I got fan mail!
But this one made me scratch my head, raise an eyebrow and lose a brain cell.
Nice blog you have got there.
Are those cars in your Blog all from your country (Vietnam)?
Was all the photo take by you? Wat camera are you using?
This is pretty self-explanatory, I’m sure. But I still want to say it.
When the hell did I become Vietnamese?
OH. You have to see this next bit of info:
The person who sent this email is a Singaporean. I know because he included his blog URL and I went to check it out. (To protect the innocent, I’m not revealing the URL.)
How can a Singaporean not tell that I’m a Singaporean??
It’s not like I try to be international in my blogs, right? I sometimes use Singlish. I talk about Singaporean things, places, issues, people. The word “Singapore” was used in my blog titles four times in the last month.
So how, oh how, is it not painfully obvious to a Singaporean that I’m a Singaporean?
I replied the email. No answer yet. But then, it’s only been two days.
BuB, if you’re reading this, thank you for your email. It’s very entertaining.
In an unexpected twist of events, the email actually made me very happy. Two days prior to receiving the email, I was asked to audition for a Vietnamese girl role, a role I really want because it’s a leading role in a telemovie and looks fun.
How weird is that?
So, I’m happy someone thinks I look Vietnamese.

u do look a little vietnamese… but u don’t write like one. so… he was probably only looking at ur pics (in which case u shd feel insulted, right? i think). HAHAHAHA.
sicarii> aye aye.
qy> how’s the pho bo?? =P
thats a compliment, you can ask steve.. we both think vietnamese girls prettier than singaporeans.. :D
Bjorn: I second that… :P
arachno: Thanks! ;) Well, I suppose it doesn’t hurt to look “different”. :P
cowcow: I’ve seen quite many Russell Peter clips on YouTube. Can’t really remember about Vietnamese cos the most memorable to me are the ones about British and Hongkongers. :P
And what pho bo?
Fish: Aiyah… sad. :( But then I haven’t gotten any news yet, so maybe I won’t be working on this telemovie either. :P
Kev: Haha, possible.
SC: Aww, thanks. You’re always so sweet.
Daphne: Thanks for commenting! :) I guess I should have thought of that. I think there are many people who don’t read blogs as much as look at pictures in blogs. LOL.
Bjorn/arachno: You guys really think Vietnamese girls are prettier than Singaporean ones? Aiyah so sad for us Singaporeans lah! :P Then I hope you both also think I look like a Vietnamese! Hahaha. ;)
QY>eh u gotta find on youtube the 1 abt vietnamese…
have fun! it’s abt vietnamese & english. =P
Haha… what a coincidence. I don’t know about you guys, but I think asians look a little a like each other (in some way)… To be honest, the first time I read this blog and saw the pictures of Qiaoyun, I initially thought she was japanese… (you know, especially when I saw her with some of her cute anime-like outfits). :D
cow: kk… will watch it… if you stop bugging me. haha.
modchip: I guess we all have the same roots so there has to be some similarities :P
Many people can’t tell the difference between regional people (i.e. they all look the same). Had many of these people “opened” their eyes, they could tell the difference between the regions. That may sound a little mean of me, but many people take what the see at face value and don’t go any deeper to look.
:o ive always loved vietnamese girls…. ;)
Well in real life, Singaporeans identify each other by their accents & flip flops. You can never tell online. Btw, I think you totally look Vietnamese. A little like Michelle Phan actually.
