Sushi Fail

SMH Ocado! This week, they offered me a flash sale of salmon sashimi (half price) so I thought I’d take it and also order some sushi to make it a good lunch. I ordered 4 boxes of sushi and things. Today the delivery arrived. “Sorry, but your order is missing… all the sushi things.” I mean… don’t be offering me an item for sale if it’s out of stock!

Asian Food

My life is kind of sad these days, food-wise. I have to eat supermarket Japanese food and takeaway Chinese food (which Piers has to drive for an hour to get). They are second-rate but do satisfy the cravings a bit. I can cook some but it’s not the same. In Singapore, good food is everywhere; no cooking needed!

Gratitude

I’m grateful for my new touchscreen gloves that will keep my hands warm when I go on my walks. When touchscreen gloves were first invented, they only came in black and didn’t look very stylish. Now they have all sorts of colours and fabrics!

Habits Fail

In the final week of each month, my habit tracker looks very sad and pathetic because I am rushing to do the next month’s bujo pages and don’t have time for silly yoga and meditation and what-not, lol. I will need to set different priorities if I don’t want to continue falling off the wagon every last week of the month!

Shiny New Thing

Now I understand the perils of designing next month’s pages before this month is over. I have been bored of my September pages since Friday because my October pages are new and shiny and I can’t wait to use them!

But making trackers and planners each month takes a lot of time so I have to start asap. I started late this month so I’ve had to work nonstop all weekend, sacrificing food and sleep and everything else I can.

It’s the end of the day now on the last day of September. I am so happy I managed to complete all my October pages. But I am now so very exhausted. My mind feels numb with an intense buzz and my body is shutting down. I really need to start earlier next month!

Gratitude

I’m grateful for the end of the month! A new month means a fresh start!

Little Photographer

Went to C&H’s for lunch. I needed to take a selfie of my new pink waterproof jacket, so I got the girls to do it since I can’t hold my phone far enough to photograph the whole thing.

I underestimated 6-year-old Emma’s expertise with the iPhone. I was teaching her to press the white button and she was, like, I know! Then, once I got into position, she went, “I’m going to take a video!”

After she did my video, we got 4-year-old Mimi to do it next. Emma wanted to dance!

Bujo

I woke up at 5:30 am to work on my October pages. I mean, it wasn’t intentional. I’d just woken up prematurely and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I started drawing sketches and finally decided on my October theme. It’s very exciting to have a new theme and a new look! I can’t wait for October to start but at the same time, it’s coming way too soon. I won’t have enough time to get all my pages ready for it! Typical.

Wish

I wish I had someone to cook healthy meals for me. I would happily go on any reasonable diet. No sugar, no dairy, no junk food, whatever. The toughest thing about diets is the time it takes to make meals, not the resisting of bad food!

Gratitude

I’m grateful for my new pastel pink waterproof jacket! It is so pretty! Now I shan’t mind going for walks in the rain!

Hmm… but what about bottoms. How do we keep those dry in the rain?

Dark Chocolate

Something strange has happened. I think I have started to like eating dark chocolate! I’ve eaten Lindt 70% dark chocolate for 4 days now and, initially, I only enjoyed chewing on it because the texture is just like milk chocolate. Today I nibbled on some regular dark chocolate, found it too sweet, and went back to 70% and I realised I like the taste!

Resting Bitch Face

I’m a bit upset by how most people are saying “Resting Bitch Face” instead of “Bitchy Resting Face”. Grammatically, they do not mean the same thing.

Resting Bitch Face = You have a bitch face which happens to be resting at the moment. If you happen to be smiling, then you are a Smiling Bitch Face.

Bitchy Resting Face = Your resting face looks bitchy. Your smiling face probably looks fine.

I don’t know why people don’t get this.

Bitchy Resting Face

In a sort of related note, 6 years ago, I was receiving my assessment after a work placement at Bournemouth Montessori Centre, when I was told I got caught looking moody at the playground while supervising the kids’ outdoor play time.

At that time, Bitchy Resting Face hadn’t been invented yet and I wasn’t entirely aware that I had it. So I had a hard time trying to explain that my face looks like that when I don’t smile. I was then told I should smile al the time.

Well, you try smiling 24/7. I still feel very upset about being misunderstood and wrongfully accused, 6 years on.

Gratitude

I’m grateful that I don’t have to work so I can’t be wrongfully accused of anything! That is the worst thing ever about having a job, honestly!

Washing Blunder

So, the highlight of my day is being a total boob and letting the washing machine chew up £10 worth of Chinese takeaway vouchers and regurgitate up as sodden blobs of horror all over our clothes. On the bright side, Piers said, the restaurant would be ever so happy if they knew about it. Should we tell them?

The King’s Avatar

Chong has been pestering me to watch a Chinese anime called The King’s Avatar, about a kickass professional gamer in an MMORPG. He uses an umbrella as his weapon, which I thought at first was hilarious but it turns out to be a serious, cool weapon.

Gratitude

I’m grateful that I can afford to buy everything that I need.

Eating Out

Piers suddenly felt like eating at the Nepalese restaurant tonight so off we went. It was my first time there (his second) and I was impressed by the food. I think I just happened to choose the right dishes because Piers’ choices weren’t as nice, haha.

Shopping Work

Online shopping is quite hard work because there are so many choices and reviews to go through!

Flying Swans

Three large swans flew over my head while I was walking in the garden! They were so near they caused a draft which alerted me to their presence so I looked up just in time to see them glide off into the distance! I didn’t even know before today that swans flew all over the country!

Acquiring a taste

I have decided to try to like dark chocolate to see if I can stop craving milk chocolate. I tried a square of Lindt 70%. I think I like the bitterness. It’s the sour flavour at the end that I find unpleasant and the 70% has more of it. Why? But I love the texture of chocolate so I will try more different % and brands!

Gratitude

Today I’m grateful for a tasty dinner.

Rant

Had a big upset while cooking dinner. I super hate cooking. I’ve been cooking for 6 years now and it still isn’t easier or better. Even on normal days, I am stressed throughout the process.

Tonight, I had chunks of raw turkey mince flying into different surfaces and boiling oil spitting in my face. It was one of those times I just wanted to give up and have a good cry.

On the bright side, the hoisin turkey mince lettuce wrap and fried gyoza were super yummy.
