Gratitude

I’m grateful for the pretty colours of autumn in nature.

Piers

Today in Telegram:

Piers: Rich cancelled the TVR meetup.
Me: I didn’t know there was a TVR meetup.
Piers: Well, it’s just me and him. With our TVRs.
Me: You can’t call that a TVR meetup!!

Mini Win

I’m proud of myself for walking downstairs to get a glass of water instead of ignoring my thirst like usual. How sad are my victories, lol.

Runaway

The ladybird family are still there (ref. Oct 21) but today one of them is exploring the curtain. (I’ve not seen any of them move before.) I’ve given them names off the top of my head. Ted and Sue, the parents. Beth and Mary, the girls. Little Johnny is the one running about, the rascal.

The next night: Little Johnny’s missing! Now it’s a family of four! But later I found him in the bedroom near the curtain. It’s a long way from home! I made Piers put him back with his family in case he’s lost. At first he kept walking away but we kept trying and finally he settled down in the circle.

I wonder if he was lost or bored or… a runaway!

Rusty

Liquid iron is so disgusting! I bought the version that is mixed with apple juice but I can still taste the rust very distinctly. I’m beginning to suspect that Adam prescribed me the liquid version instead of pills because it’s so gross I’m going to find more motivation to eat more iron-rich food so I can stop taking the supplement! In fact, “rust flavoured” is the bright side of it! I focus on that with effort so my mind won’t think “blood flavoured”. But whatever it is so disgusting!

Goodbye

Piers gave Betty away today. She was the car we used in the first 5 months of our relationship. She was the car that came to pick me up when I visited England the first time. She’s the only car I’ve driven in England. I’m going to miss you, Betty!

Gratitude

I’m grateful that my allergies are not life-threatening.

Beating Temptation

Temptation is a dirty fiend. We were watching the episode of The Apprentice where they had to make and sell gourmet doughnuts. I haven’t had one since, like, 2012 because they gave me severe heartburn. But OMG did I want one so badly tonight. I couldn’t even just grab a random sweet thing to eat to satisfy the sugar demon because I’m trying to only have sweets on special occasions. Life is so cruel!

Expert Slacker

I woke up this morning after only 4.5 hours of sleep. Not wanting to waste time trying to get back to sleep, I spent the next 3 hours working on my bujo. After that it was time to “start” my day with physio and yoga.

I was so exhausted by then. Did physio and was about to prepare my mat when I suddenly remembered my knee wound. I can’t do yoga with a knee wound! Yesssss! Said my naughty, childish mind.

It’s only a teeny tiny wound but it does smart a bit so there’s a legit excuse to give yoga a miss, right? Of course, there are lots of poses I can do without getting on knees but it’s just easier to stay safe! LOL.

Gratitude

I’m grateful for fresh clean bedding (even though it’s always a pain to change the sheets). It always feels so good, though!

Ladybird Family

I have seen 2 ladybirds periodically on a spot on our bathroom curtains for a few weeks now. I only see them at night when the curtains are closed and I’m standing at the right spot, and then I forget about them. Today there are FIVE of them there! 2 normal-size ones and 3 half-size ones! It’s a ladybird family OMG!! It’s also a mixed-race family! OMG!

Gratitude

I’m grateful for decent sleep two days in a row. I still felt fatigued both days but I can feel the sleeps were deeper.

Mystery Wound

The craziest injuries are the mystery ones. Noticed a small line of blood on my knee while drying off after a shower. It’s a cut or scratch, I don’t know. And how did it get there when I’ve been wearing long bottoms all month? I must have got it in the shower but how?

Camel

Logging water intake is a pain but it’ll make me try harder. Drank 550ml today. Such a disgrace!

Milky Woe

I had dairy milk for the first time in nearly four months. It wasn’t the sublime experience I anticipated but it was pretty nice. Adam said I could try low lactose dairy products for a bit, so I got some lactose-free milk. (And cream and cheese!) But after a breakfast of spelt bran flakes with raisins, I suffered major bloating. What is going on, then? Am I not intolerant to lactose but to casein? Is the lactose-free milk a sham? Is it the bran flakes? My damned gut is killing me softly.

Gratitude

I’m grateful for meditation naps, lol. They probably ruin my progress at mastering it but they feel so good!

Quote of the Day

We couldn’t decide what movie to watch tonight. Both seemed equally good and neither of us wanted to choose, so Piers said we should toss a coin. And that settled it nicely.

“The coin has spoken,” Piers said.

Rant

Buying furniture is so hard!

Fear

I planned to start designing next month’s pages in the middle of this month and it’s time I started. But I’m so terrified that I won’t be able to come up with something different that satisfies me. Every time I produce something, I feel like I’ve used up my limited creativity and I can never do as well anymore. I’ve proven myself wrong many times but the fear is always there.

Newt

Piers was so excited to find a lizard that he ran all the way upstairs to tell me. Then he caught it and realised it was a newt!
