The particle smashing thing has nothing to do with big bang, it is just how scientist split things into smaller pieces, so that they know what are they, which are the stuffs existed right after the big bang event.

However, at sub atomic level, gravity is very weak. It is the weakest of the four fundamental forces (which are strong forces, electro-magnetic force, weak force and gravity).

Gravity force is significant only at astronomical level, and it takes a lot of mass to create something like black hole, much more mass than the whole solar system itself.

Even if you create a tiny “black hole substance”, it is harmless and does not yield any problems at all. The force between electron and proton is much stronger than such gravity force at atomic level.

Some people suggest that the worst nightmare of particle collision comes from a particle called “Strangelet” (such as the strange quark), which have weird characteristic and they say it will convert other normal particles into strange particles in a chain reaction fashion and literally convert earth into a grey goo, but that is more like a fictional story to me.

Another good explanation of big bang is that the flying spagetti monster excreted its feces, which form into the universe we know today :P *wink wink*
