Malays are generally nicer than non-Malays. Once, when as students we collected used newspapers for charity, it was always the Malay families that open their doors big big and not treat us like beggars. They would even invite you to have a meal with them even though you could tell that they are the sort that just get by. By default, many Chinese families would avoid us like plague or treat us like free labour to clear their junk.

Sometimes I focus on the negative too much that I forget the positive people that I meet along the way all the time. And if you really think about it, the negative only makes up a small percentage and it’s the negative that we keep focusing on. So there you go, thanks for the reminder!

I also have a nice encounter today. Walking to the bus stop when a road sweeper I pass by smiled at me and greeted me good morning. I was stun for a moment but I smiled and greeted her back

Sometimes a gesture no matter how small by you or others will help brighten our day.
