I was working on an entry yesterday. Spent about an hour writing and saving intermittently (using the Save and Continue Editing button).
Then, after one particular save, the page suddenly returned to me empty. And the post totallly disappeared. It’s not even in my draft list, which has drafts that I saved since like three months ago.
Zzz…
Oh well. Start from scratch again!

BBIAB.

Ouch, I know how you feel…
That’s why I always post indirectly from an offline editor like Windows Live Writer. :-)
The blank page thing happens to me too. Sometimes you just to browse back to your Dashboard and then click on Manage to see the post saved but with a post-ID number.
Or you can use Firefox and browse back to the previous screen - if you are lucky, the words are still all there for you to copy-n-paste into Notepad for safekeeping temporarily.
Anyways, better luck next time! :)
Oh dear… bad Joo Joo!
Yeah, like Sicarii said, you can use some offline editor… maybe notepad? :D
Erm. . . actually your draft is not lost at all. click manage your post. click the arrow down of your status. you will see “draft”, click on it, and click fliter. And there you find it.
The mystery post eater strikes again!
Sicarii/modchip: Yeah I know I can do that, but this is the first time Wordpress has done this to me so I never felt the need to. :P
mooiness/Sentosa Girl: Thanks for the advice, but still nothing! :P Doesn’t really matter lah, it wasn’t like a 3000 word essay. I lost one of those before - it was actually a take-home exam for uni, and I lost all 3000 words of it. Now, THAT was painful and nothing can ever beat that!
Miccheng/Jesta: Yesh. Hope it never happens to you too. :D
It happen to me many times, but if I had to retype everything, I get too annoy to be typing the same thing all over again, so I would just put it aside and work on it later.
Which version of WP are u using?
Kay: Heh, yeah I know what you mean. Actually, I wasn’t too happy with the post either lah, so that’s why I’m not making a big hooha out of losing it. So I don’t mind doing it all over again.
Miccheng: I’m using WP 2.2.1, the lastest version out.
Nuttin beats writing 4 days of coding….. and on the initial run of the program, the program crash the PC and nuttin was saved. Then having to re-write the entire program in 1 day to meet date line.
Ouch, that sounds worse than me losing my 3000 word essay. :(
